Description

Unfortunately this beautiful region only rises approximately 20 degrees above the horizon, from where I live. But I finally managed to process this propperly just recently!
The main features are the Antares/Rho Ophiuchi complex, the Blue Horsehead Nebula and the Sharpless 2-1 group of H II regions.
What I found most interresting, is a faint stream of blueish reflection nebula from Delta Scorpii all the way down to the right edge of the frame.

This is a mosaic of 4 frames comprising a stack of 100 exposures of 2 minutes each. Taken during 8 nights in rural Upper Austria with a Nikon D750 and a 135mm Sigma Art lens at f/3.5 and ISO 1600. Later a total of 11.5 hours worth of H-Alpha were added to bring out the faint HII-regions. An Astronomik clip-in filter was used with the same camera and lens.
Tracking with Astrotrac; processed with Astro Pixel Processor, StarXterminator and Photoshop.
